Centennial Dominicana, a newcomer to the telecommunications market in the DR, is urging Tricom to remember their old slogan, “your right to choose” and stop applying barriers to interconnection. Centennial has taken public its complaints that Tricom wants to impose unfair market conditions before allowing interconnection. Tricom says they are only applying what is established in the telecommunications Law 153-98. The dispute will be resolved by Indotel, the Dominican Telecommunications Department that regulates telecom companies.
