Street signs full of errors

Hoy newspaper points out all the errors that resulted from City Hall’s effort to place new signs on Dominican streets. The Saturday, 26 May, article points out that way too many errors crept into the new street signs. Apparently no one at the city government supervised the labeling. The street sign program cost the government RD$5 million. Among the errors are abbreviated last names, omitted last names, and spelling errors. Castellanos (Jose Andres Aybar Castellanos)Jose Cedeño, in charge of the city hall department that made the signs, says the errors happened because they did not supervise the work of those typing in the names. He attributed the mistakes to “natural error, normal, because those who did the job were humans.” Luis Jose Chavez, secretary of City Hall, promised corrective measures would be taken.
