The Atlantic Basin hurricane season starts 1 June and lasts through 30 November. The names of this year’s hurricanes will be: Allison, Barry, Chantal, Dean, Erin, Felix, Gabrielle, Humberto, Iris, Jerry, Karen, Lorenzo, Michelle, Noel, Olga, Pablo, Rebekah, Sebastien, Tanya, Van and Wendy in that order. William Grey, one of the leading hurricane forecasters in the US, is scheduled to issue a forecast update on 7 June.
