IADB board comes for talks with government

The executive board of the Inter American Development Bank is coming for an intense agenda of meetings with government and private sector leaders. Fifteen IADB board members will meet with President Hipolito Mejia, members of Congress and the Supreme Court. Meetings have been scheduled at the Central Bank, with the so-called “social cabinet” of the government, the Association of Commercial Banks and the National Council of Private Business (Conep). The trip comes at a time when the Mejia administration has been putting aside loan contracts signed with the IADB and the World Bank to favor new indebtedness with foreign commercial banks.
