Government behind in its power bills

Power distributors requested the government get up to date on paying its power bills. Reportedly the three distributor companies have only received payment of RD$1.5 million on a debt of RD$25 million. Minister of Industry and Commerce Angel Lockward, and the general administrator of the Dominican Electricity Corporation, Cesar Sanchez, called on all government offices to pay their power bills or the service will be suspended in mid June.
