The Ministry of Public Works is working on the installation of new traffic lights at 267 intersections in Santo Domingo. The new system comes with TV cameras that synchronize the lights with the traffic flow. It is the same system they have in Madrid and Malaga in Spain, Gaudalajara, Mexico, Sao Paolo, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires with good results. The project has a RD$24 million price tag.
