The Income Tax Department (DGII) has announced collections were up 60% in May compared to the same month last year. Taxes were significantly increased when tax reform went into effect in January. Budget Office Director, Luis Ernesto Perez Cuevas, said overall government tax collections for May were RD$5,083 million. The government budgeted annual collections of RD$65,000 million for this year.
