A quake of 4.7 on the Richter Scale was felt yesterday in Santo Domingo, and the East and the North of the Dominican Republic, according to the Seismological Institute at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo. The movement took place at 8:30 am and its center was Saona Island. The earthquake caused no damage. It was felt in Hato Mayor, Higuey, San Francisco de Macoris, Samana, Nagua and Santo Domingo. A Seismological Institute spokesman said that at there are around 90 a month in the DR, most of which are not felt.
