The American Chamber of Commerce, the Commercial Section and the Agriculture Section of the US Embassy in the Dominican Republic announced yesterday the celebration of Expo USA, a major event to promote business between the Dominican Republic and the United States. An estimated 150 Dominican and US companies will participate in this year’s event from 20-22 September at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel conference center. Speaking during the press conference to announce the event, Janice Jacobs, charge d’affairs of the US Embassy, pointed out that the DR is the seventh largest importer of US goods in the world, and that trade with the DR represents half of all US trade with the Caribbean.
