Koreans to propose power plants

Top executives from Hyundai, Hanjung and Samsung, three large Korean manufacturers, will travel to the DR next month to promote the installation of nuclear, hydroelectric and petroleum-powered electricity generators. Kook Bo Yang, spokesman for the Korea Trade Center said that executives from Hyundai Heavy Industry will use the DR as a platform to launch their new mobile power plants that generate 1 and 1.5 megawatts. Furthermore, the spokesman for the Korean government confirmed that Hyundai Motors will sell 2,200 units of vehicles to the Dominican government for US$50 million. He said other suppliers are Marco Polo, Toyota and a Brazilian firm.
