Correction: Acropolis Center opening in July-August 2001

The president of the Renaissance Development Corporation, Rodrigo Montealegre wrote to clarify errors in an information published in the DR1 Daily News yesterday. Montealegre explains that the part of the tower that is scheduled to open in May 2002 is the Citibank Tower. The tower will be delivered to purchasers in January 2002 for these to start interior decoration works. He said that the commercial center, known as the Acropolis Center is scheduled for an August opening. He explains that purchasers of commercial stores are already working on the decoration of the shops. The new shopping mall is going up on Winston Churchill Avenue. Most of the construction work on the Acropolis Center is finished, and pending is the completion of the underground levels. He said that the movie houses have said they will open in July. Montealegre said that the shopping center will be the second largest in the city, with 20,000 square meters compared to nearby Plaza Central’s 23,000 square meters. He explained that given that the complex occupies an entire block, construction work will be able to continue on the Citibank Tower using a separate entrance.
