During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Relations it was also decided that the President would name a commission to study alternatives for when in 2003 tax incentives end for the free zones, as per agreements reached with the World Trade Organization. Jeanette Dominguez, director of the National Council of Export Free Zones (CNZFE) said that the commission would study alternatives for when in 2003 tax incentives and other privileges granted to companies operating in free zone parks expire. The expiration fulfills an agreement signed with the World Trade Organization. She said members of the commission would be two of the National Council of Export Free Zones, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, two representatives Central Bank, and two representatives of the Dominican Free Zone Association. The commission is to work closely with the Dominican ambassador before the World Trade Organization, Federico Cuello.
