CNNC vs. Conacex, dispute continues

El Caribe newspaper reports that President Mejia’s decision to verbally authorize the National Commission for Trade Negotiations (CNNC) of the Ministry of Foreign Relations as the body in charge of trade negotiations is not enough. Maritza Amalia Guerrero, of the CNNC says the dispute between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Ministry of Public Relations over who is in charge of trade negotiations will only end if the President issues a decree dismantling the National Council of Foreign Trade created in January of this year and which places the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in charge. That commission was entrusted with overseeing trade negotiations.
