The government of the US donated RD$148 million for programs to control and prevent AIDS and tuberculosis. Vice President Milagros Ortiz Bosch presided over the agreement signing ceremony at the National Palace. Technical Secretary of the Presidency Rafael Calderon signed for the Dominican government. Janice L. Jacobs, charge d’affairs of the Embassy, represented the US.
