DR wins its first regional soccer cup

The Dominican national soccer team surprised all winning this weekend its first Soccer Cup of the Antilles, Group Sub-20. To win the cup, the DR defeated Cuba at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center stadium. Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Haiti participated in the event that was dedicated to President Mejia. Wally Contreras was the most valuable player, when he marked the only goal in 73rd minute of the game. In the tournament, Cuba placed second, Haiti third and Puerto Rico fourth. The event will now be played in Haiti, then Cuba and finally in Puerto Rico.
