Customs Department announced it began to apply the GATT valorization system as of 1 July. All items are taxed as per their transaction bill. The Dominican government has requested the exclusion of 31 items, but the Department of Customs says that the World Trade Organization has 60 days to issue their verdict. The Customs department will not exclude any item from the GATT valorization until the WTO issues its opinion.
