The Listin Diario says that a technical commission of the Pan American Sports Organization will be in Santo Domingo from 3 to 6 August to review advances made by the Organizing Committee. Shortly after, from 15-17 August, the 42 members of the Pan American Sports Organization are scheduled to gather in Santo Domingo for a general assembly to discuss the preparations in place. Hoy newspaper explains this is a routine meeting held two years prior to the hosting of a Pan American Games event. The Games are scheduled to take place in Santo Domingo in July 2003. The last assembly took place in Panama in January of this year.
