A tropical depression has developed in the Caribbean on a track that could affect the Dominican Republic and thus should be monitored. The tropical depression is located along a path that could pass south of Puerto Rico and close to the Dominican Republic. At this time, weather reports show the system is still well east of the Lesser Antilles and is no immediate threat to land in the Caribbean. The center of the tropical depression in todays first report was located near latitude 12.3 North longitude 46.2 West or about 1,610 kilometers (1,000 miles) east of the southern Windward Islands. It is moving toward the West-Northwest near 18 mph/30 km/hr.
