Newborn baby rescued from city park

An apparently three-day-old baby girl was rescued from death at the Eugenio Maria de Hostos Park near the Malecon in Santo Domingo. She was found by teenagers who first thought the cries they heard were from a kitten. They found the baby girl wrapped in a towel in a bush. She had been bitten by ants. They took the baby to their home, where their mother called the police who then sent the baby to the Robert Reid Cabral Children’s hospital. The baby is said to be in good health.
