Script of a fake kidnapping

The National Police say 22-year-old industrial engineering student Rafaelina Elizabeth Brito planned and carried out her own kidnapping. She was found in Bayahibe, the beach town near La Romana, where she had spent the night at Pension Ive. When her room was searched, the police say they found a notebook with a script for her kidnapping. She also had a tape recorder with a recording requesting a RD$100,000 ransom. Police spokesman Nelson Rosario said that Brito used two acquaintances to record the request. She convinced them that the message was for a movie she was preparing. She is the daughter of a rancher from Nagua, Jose Lucas Brito, and retired professor Salome Taveras Capellan. She resides in the El Millon neighborhood in Santo Domingo with her sister. The Police took her to the Armed Forces military hospital in Santo Domingo for a check up. The girl’s parents were relieved to know their daughter was safe and said they await the final conclusions of the Police.
