Elizabeth Taylor visits colonial city

Hollywood’s Elizabeth Taylor is staying more than a week in the DR. Diario Libre reports that she has been invited to the Mir Foundation Spring Gala Benefit at Casa de Campo, La Romana. She is staying at the resort but news reports say she has toured Santo Domingo’s colonial city and other parts of the country during her stay. The newspaper says she showed an interest in Dominican art. The Mir Foundation benefit features performances by John Secada and Sergio Vargas as well as the Badgley-Mishka spring fashion collection. And former US President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton vacationed in Punta Cana.
