President favors traditional exporters

The President prefers that exporters of so-called traditional exports no longer have to exchange their dollars with the Central Bank. Only traditional exports have this requirement. Traditional exports include sugar, coffee, cacao and tobacco. The President also wants the government to give coffee exporters a RD$300 million incentive per quintal exported. President Mejia spoke at the IV National Encounter of Farm Leaders organized by the Agribusiness Board (JAD) last weekend.
