DR exports to the US decline

El Caribe reports that Dominican exports to the US declined 1.5% in the first half of the year. Department of Commerce statistics show that DR exports fall below the average for the region. The decline is attributed to the sluggish performance of the apparel sector which represents half of the total exports. This sector is down 2.5%. In the first half of the year, exports to the US were US$2.02 billion compared to US$2.3 billion in imports.
