Mejia says Presidency has not gone to his head

President Hipolito Mejia said yesterday that he will not change his ways just because he is President. “I am a president, like all of you,” he said at a meeting of his social program ministers at the National Palace. “I have not wanted the countryside to get out of my head,” he said. “There are people who want me to change, but I was brought up like this and as President, I am not going to change,” he said. He jested that there are those who want him to buy a wig. “But I don’t like that nor do I like traditional politics, where I say one thing and then do another. I am not going to do that,” he promised. “For the next three years you are going to have to see me as I am because I am not going to change,” he said.
