Senate chooses its representative in Magistracy Council

The Senate chose Jose Gonzalez Espinosa (PTD-Barahona) as its representative in the National Council of the Magistracy. Gonzalez received 22 votes of the 25 senators present. The decision leaves the third majority party, the PLD, out of the body that will chose the three new Supreme Court justices. Gonzalez Espinosa entered the Senate when his party allied with the PRD.
