An Italian firm, Speli S.A. will invest US$14 million (RD$238 million) to build an industrial park and handicraft manufacturing zone in El Limon, La Romana, near Bayahibe. The company will build 14 industrial plants in an area of 100,000 square meters. Jose Ovalle Polanco of the Industrial Promotion Corporation (CFI) made the announcement. 150 apartments for employees are also part of the complex.
