The Chamber of Deputies approved loans for RD$500 million (about US$30 million) for the construction of five bridges over the Yuna, Maimon and Boba Rivers in the northeast. Mabey & Johnson Ltd. and Construcciones Transporte Pagan secured financing for the projects from Citibank at an interest rate of 12% for 12 years, with three years grace period.
