Dominican “Survivor”-type show starts today

Operation Hispaniola takes off today with 16 people between 22 and 44 years old being left in Los Haitises National Park to spend 40 days incommunicado, without electricity, food, potable water and defying all odds in order to win RD$500,000 in prize money. Channel 13 cameras will follow their quest to survive. Depending on how long they hang on, the participants will win various money prizes. The saga begins today at 9:30 pm. Weekly summaries will be aired from 9:30 to 11 pm on Wednesdays, and daily segments will be aired at 11 am, 1:30 pm, 8 pm and 10:30 pm on Channel 13.
