Former President Leonel Fernandez did not visit the District Attorney for questioning yesterday regarding the handling of a RD$1.4 billion fund during his last eight months in office. PLD spokesmen said that Fernandez would show up on Thursday at 4 pm to answer the questions. They said that Fernandez and his officers did not go yesterday because the agreement to allow the press was violated. The former statesman had made a condition that the questioning be broadcast by TV and radio. In addition to Fernandez, 15 of his government officers are also sought for questioning. Attorney General Virgilio Bello Rosa accused the PLD officers of violating the gentlemens pact and warned that he would not permit those sought for questioning to lead the investigation.
