Juan Guiliani, a spokesman for Citibank, wrote to DR1 Daily News to explain that Citibanks only relation to the 27-floor-tower going up on Winston Churchill Avenue is as a future tenant of its top floors. The spokesman for the US bank says it does not have any other ties to the building. Guiliani says the building is the Acropolis Tower and not the Citibank Tower. He said the posting of a sign for many months at the construction site calling it the Citibank Tower was an error of the Acropolis building promoters. The impressive tower is Santo Domingos tallest building and dominates the Winston Churchill skyline. Inside, those visiting the newly opened Caribbean Cinema theatres can catch a glimpse of the strikingly different architecture that is expected to make the building a city landmark. The Acropolis shopping center, with 20,000 square meters space, is the second largest in Santo Domingo. Interior decorators are working to prepare stores for opening.
