The North Coast is readying itself for one of its most outstanding annual events, the Puerto Plata Jazz Festival. The event kicks off on Thursday, 4 October at the Playa Dorada and ends on Saturday, 6 in Cabarete.
The schedule is as follows:
Thursday, 4 October. Playa Dorada. Manny Oquendo (Cuba-USA), Rene Marie (USA) and the Puerto Plata Jazz Ensemble (RD) at 8 pm. RD$150.
Friday, 5 October. Sosua. Willow Run High School Band (USA), Las Flores Par at 2 pm. Free admission.
Adolfo Farighton. Lobby Amhsa Marina Reef at 7:30 pm. Concert at the Areito Amphitheater of Amhsa Marina Reef with Arturo Sandoval (Cuba) and Humberto Ramirez (Puerto Rico) at 9 pm. RD$200.
Saturday, 6 October. Cabarete Beach. Natti Love Joys (Jamaica), Macarldi Nibbs Steel Band (Tortola) and Bacachá Dominican Band (RD) at 4 pm. Free admission. (25 September 2001)
