Minister of Industry and Commerce Hugo Guilliani Cury (one of the two principal negotiators of the sovereign bonds) said on a morning talk show that the government needs to establish the means to guarantee the bonds’ repayment, to use the funds for priority projects and to impose discipline regarding their revenues. He explained the government needs to revise its expenditures with the clear object of improving how the money is spent. He suggested the money from the bonds be used for priority infrastructure projects capable of generating money to repay the bonds.
