Spanish company Eurocom disputes the Pan Am Games Organizing Committee’s decision to grant the TV rights to the CBC of Canada. Eurocom says the Organizing Committee did not let them make a proposal. Ejecutives of CBC Canada are in the country to sign the contract. Hoy newspaper sites an irrefutable source as revealing that President Hipolito Mejia had recommended that the Organizing Committee delay the signing of the contract. The contract calls for a first payment of US$1 million.
