Former big league baseball pitcher El?as Sosa, former basketballer Silvia Espinal and sports promoter Enrique Ripley Marin have been chosen for the Dominican Sports Hall of Fame, as reported in El Siglo. The three will be inducted in a ceremony on November 21 at the Casa San Pablo with a special dedication from homerun hero Sammy Sosa. The announcement was made yesterday at a press conference attended by Espinal and Ripley Marin. Elias Sosa has lived for many years in the US. In his remarks, Ripley Marin encouraged sports authorities to keep supporting the Pan Am Games ?because every peso invested in a sporting event is a peso invested in Dominican youth.?
