The job was vacated last week by Raúl Barrientos for reasons that were never publicized. A decision on who will be appointed to the post is expected in the next few days, according to the president of the 2003 games, José Joaquín Puello. “It’s a posting of great responsibility so it should go to an executive with great management abilities and very good relations with the President of the Republic,” he said.
