Executive Center and Colopark were authorized by the government to build parking facilities for the Colonial City. The new parking lots will go up in the Avenida del Puerto, Comandancia del Puerto and Plaza San Anton. Because of a high rate of car theft and vandalism, Colonial City residents are accustomed to not leaving their cars overnight on streets and instead paying for parking in the 20 or so formal parking garages. But there are not enough spaces to meet the demand. The decision is welcomed by the many restaurants and bars that bring life to the area at night.
