Dominicans nominated for Grammys

Merengue stars Milly Quezada and Fernando Villalona, in addition to jazz maestro Michael Camilo are on the list of nominees for the 45th Grammy Awards as announced yesterday in New York City. The Recording Academy Awards will be held on 23 February at the Madison Square Gardens in New York City. 
In the Best Jazz Instrumental Album category (for albums containing 51 percent or more playing-time of instrumental tracks), Michel Camilo was nominated for his work on the album Triangulo. His competitors are Dave Douglas, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and McCoy Tyner. 
In the Best Merengue Album category, Fernando Villalona?s Mal acostumbrado, along with Milly Quezada for Pienso asi, were nominated. Their competitors are Grupo Mania, Limi T 21 and Manny Manuel productions.
