The Direcci?n General de Impuestos Internos, the governmental tax department, announced that wages of up to RD$11,605 a month will not be subject to taxation. Each year in January, the department applies an inflation adjustment mechanism to its system to establish the levels of income from which taxes are levied. The new amount represents an increase from the previous tax-free level of RD$10,500.
