More news on fuels

There seems to be a difference of opinions on the current fuel situation. Some say there is plenty of propane, but there is little kerosene; there is or there isn’t enough Avgas, and the situation is affecting tourism. Representatives of the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP), the Industrial Association, the Gasoline Retailers Association, the Transport Union, and various government entities share the opinion that steps need to be taken to avoid a crisis. Suggestions made included limiting the amount of gasoline purchased to reduce hoarding; placing restrictions on the work hours of taxi drivers by which they maintain rotating schedules; the introduction of an educational program to teach fuel conservation; and a restriction on the amount of fuel used by government agencies. Additionally, government officials will be prohibited from using official vehicles on weekends, stoplights are to be better synchronized for optimal fuel use, solar energy is to receive a promotional push and people will be encouraged to carpool.
