Los Marlins Golf Course in Juan Dolio will host the XVII Juan Marichal Golf Classic on the weekend of 31 January, 1 and 2 February. In a press conference to announce the event, Juan Marichal said that fellow baseball greats will again be on hand for the event, mentioning Davey Jonson, Tino Martinez, Harmon Killebrew, Ozzie Smith, Steve Carlton, John Orsino, Felix Trinidad and Orlando Cepeda. The tournament is an annual benefit for the Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral, a non-governmental organization that assists low-income barrios in the National District and Province of Santo Domingo.
