Vice President Milagros Ortiz Bosch, who is also the country?s Minister of Education, swore in a first team that will work for the party to choose her in the presidential primaries that should be held this year. The PRD has not set a date for their primaries, but several candidates have already announced they would participate.
The Vice President made the announcement after President Hipolito Mejia said he would not run in 2004 to please his family that opposes his seeking office again.
