With the benefit of only one hit – a Ruben Mateo double ?Escogido, down 4-1 entering the 8th inning, scored four runs to score the critical victory and advance to the best-of-seven final, beginning Friday in Santiago. The Escogido was aided by an error and four walks in overcoming the deficit and advancing to their 24th finals, and the tenth against the Aguilas. The Aguilas lead the series 5-4.
Rafael Soriano lasted only an inning before giving way to a strong bullpen effort that carried the day for Escogido. For the second night in a row, Octavio Dotel came in with a one run lead and earned his second save in as many nights.
The matchup tomorrow is listed as Escogido L. Davis (2-2) vs. ?guilas J. Acevedo (4-2) Estadio Cibao (Santiago) 8pm.
