The ?guilas Cibae?as are up three games to zero over Leones del Escogido after kicking off the Championship round of the Dominican Winter League Season on Friday. The winner of the series will represent the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean World Series beginning next week in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
The ?guilas came out on top in an all around abysmal game of baseball. The two teams combined for six walks and four errors, two of which led to the winning run. Brad Voyles pitched three innings to get the win and Guillermo Garcia hit two solo home runs (Raul Mondesi added another) for the ?guilas who will go for the title tonight by sending Joaquin Benoit (4-2) against Rafael Soriano (2-1).
