The opening of a large warehouse operated by Super Products Company in Hunts Point, New York is making it possible for Dominican produce exporters to attempt to penetrate the ethnic market of New York City. For years, this effort has remained in the planning stages, with disagreements among the competing grocery stores in New York City impeding the enterprise. Diario Libre says that a pilot program will commence in a few days with an initial shipment to New York of 2,000 boxes of yautia coco, 500 boxes of ?ame blanco, 600 boxes of limes and 1,000 boxes of yucca. The plan is to distribute the produce to 400 supermarkets and 11,562 grocery stores owned by Dominicans.
