Domestic violence still in forefront

One woman was killed and another seriously wounded by their respective jealous mates recently, bringing the number of women who have died as a result of conjugal violence to 29 for the year so far. Maria Guerrero (known as Maria Coca Cola), 27, was stabbed in the stomach by her mate Luis Vasquez Coplin, according to the woman?s mother. The incident occurred after an altercation between the couple and the victim was taken to the Dario Contreras Hospital, where she died. At the same hospital, 40-year-old teacher Bienvenida Acosta de Delgado was admitted with a gunshot wound to her face and suspected fractures to other parts of her body. Acosta de Delgado?s injuries were sustained at the hands of her husband, Pragido Delgado.
