The Executive Branch published a page-and-a-half advertisement in the El Caribe and Hoy newspapers to highlight honors extended to several outstanding Dominican women. The government could have called a press conference to make the announcements for free, which would have been more in keeping with the government?s recent call for restraint in spending. The women honored are Abigail Mejia, Conina Mainardi vda. Cuello, Trina Moya de Vasquez, Margarita A. Tavares, Leonor Sanchez Baret, and Virginia Elena Ortea.
