Listin Diario reports today that 12 new free zone industries, in which almost 4,000 new jobs would be created, were approved in January by the Export Free Zone Council. A report from the council indicates that of these 12 companies, 4 will be apparel-manufacturing plants, 3 will be service-related, 2 are for electronics and the rest will be for industries related to information, telemarketing, agriculture, and reconstruction and repair of vehicles. With a potential for US$11.3 million in export revenues, the new companies will operate in the free zones located in Santiago, San Cristobal, Salcedo, Monse?or Nouel, Pedernales, Santo Domingo and the National District. The new companies are: The Lili Group Dominicana, Palm Island Group Limited, Clarochen, S.A., Industrias NYJ, Greco Apparel, Tourism Marketing & Sales, Dm Group International, Interlectronics, Ensambladora del Caribe, FCA Corporation, DKRD and Consorcio Citricos Dominicanos.
