From today onward, all fines given out by the Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET) agents can be paid in the Banco de Reservas. With the implementation of this new system, agents will no longer retain drivers? licenses until the fine is paid, as is now the custom. To assure that fines are paid, the AMET will send the pertinent data to the OTTT (the Technical Office for Transportation). Unpaid fines will cause difficulties in obtaining new vehicle safety stickers and driver license renewals.
