Watch those foreign contracts

Deputy Julio Cesar Valent?n (PLD) alerted that the contracting of loans obliging the country to purchase materials for public works from foreign producers could be very damaging to the country. He said that in many cases local producers could supply the materials more cost-efficiently and that the prices of the imported materials are often padded. He also rejected the notion that the country should continue to contract loans in dollars at questionable terms, saying that the cost of the construction of the aqueduct for the northwestern provinces was inflated by as much as RD$400 million.
