Susie Castillo, the new Miss USA for 2003, is the daughter of a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother. According to Dominican law, she qualifies as a Dominican citizen. The 52nd Miss USA, just 23 years old, represented Massachusetts in the beauty pageant held last night in San Antonio, Texas. As the new Miss USA, Castillo will represent the United States in the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant in Panama, next May.
